A Messianic Pesach

Haggadah

You are looking at a freely provided Haggadah. You may download this free of charge. This Messianic Haggadah is provided for your use. I have taken a pre-existing Haggadah and modified it some to reflect my doctrinal opinions. Please examine this document before you use it to ensure that the doctrinal opinions expressed here reflect your own. It would be quite awkward if you got halfway through and found that I am a Trinitarian if you are not.

A Messianic Passover Haggadah

LEADER: We are gathered this evening to observe and remember Passover, God’s deliverance of his people, not just in history, but now and in the future. God delivered Israel from the bondage of slavery and he commanded that this holiday be observed by his people in perpetuity. We are not to celebrate in vain, but to give thanks to him and to recognize an even greater Passover and deliverance. Through the death of the foretold Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth, we too will be passed over from death and the bondage of sin. I ask tonight that you consider each of the scriptures and prayers that we will be reading this evening and that you may truly observe and recognize our God, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.

READER: Exodus 12:17, And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever. Luke 22:19, And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Leader says a prayer - unscripted

LEADER: Light is a symbol of the presence of God. Lighting candles during holidays and on Shabbat remind us that God is our light. It is also written in Genesis that the offspring of a woman would crush the serpent’s head. Genesis 3:15, And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. It is through a woman that our salvation would come, our hope and our light. It was by the seed of a woman, which seed was quickened by Ruach haKodesh- the Spirit of our Father in heaven, that Yeshua, our Emmanuel- God with us, was born. Let us kindle the festival lights.

WOMAN: Baruch Atah YHVH Elohenu, Melech haOlam, asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu l’hadlik ner shel (shabbat) yom tov. Blessed are you O Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us by your commandments, and has commanded us to kindle the festival lights. Amein. Baruch Atah YHVH Elohenu, Melech haOlam, asher she-he-che-yo-nu v’ki-yi-mo-nu v’hi-gi-o-nu l’zman hazey. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has kept us in life and has preserved us, and enabled us to reach this season. Amein.

LEADER: The Seder Plate has many items that we will use to experience the Passover using our senses. We will now begin reading the Hagaddah, which means ‘the telling’. We are called to celebrate Passover, as well as the other Feasts - both Jew and Gentile. Yeshua said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven". Matthew 5:17-20 And indeed, he did fulfill every aspect of the Messiah ben Yosef. When he returns he will fulfill all the prophecies of Messiah ben David.

READER: Exodus 6:1 Then the Lord said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

ALL: Exodus 6:6-7 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: 7And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the Lord your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

LEADER: During the Passover Seder we will drink 4 glasses of wine or grape juice; The Cup of Sanctification, the Cup of Plagues, the Cup of Redemption, and the Cup of Praise. We will say the traditional Hebrew prayer drinking before each cup. There is a traditional meaning to each cup as well as Yeshua’s fulfillment.

SANCTIFICATION:
Traditional - We are to be clean from leaven.
Fulfilled - We are to be clean from sin - Yeshua is the only way to be cleansed from sins.

PLAGUES:
Traditional - Remembrance of the Plagues in Egypt.
Fulfilled - Remembrance of our trials and tribulations - developing perseverance, humility and maturity in our walk with the Lord.

REDEMPTION:
Traditional - Symbolizes the blood of the Passover lamb, which was the sign of the believer, who the angel of death passed over.
Fulfilled - Yeshua is our Passover Lamb, whose blood saves us from spiritual death. This is the cup used in the communion service or Lord’s supper.

PRAISE:
Traditional - Give thanks to God for guiding Israel out of Egypt..
Fulfilled - We are to always have praise on our lips for the salvation God has given us by the blood of Yeshua.

READER: Hebrews 10:26-29, For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. 28He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Luke 22:14-18, And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him. 15And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: 16For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God. 17And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves: 18For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.

LEADER: There are those who say that the supper Yeshua hosted was not a Seder. The last verses put the lie to that. Sanctification is the first step to our salvation. God is holy and we can not enter into his presence in a state of sin.Yeshua is the ultimate sacrifice, so we can enter into God’s presence. May we all be sanctified by the blood of the Lamb, Yeshua. Please fill your cup. Let us lift our cups and bless the Lord for his abundant giving.

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, boray pri hagafen. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who created the fruit of the vine.
(Drink the first cup of wine)

READER: Psalm 24:1-6 A Psalm of David. The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. 3Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. 5He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah.

LEADER: Let us wash our hands. As we wash, let us renew our committment to God to have ‘clean hands and a clean heart.’
(Dip hands into water and then dry)

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu ahl natielat yah doyeim. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us by your commandments, and has commanded us to wash our hands.

READER: Exodus 2:23b-25, and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. 24And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob. 25And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God had respect unto them.

LEADER: We will take the parsley, called karpas and we will dip it into the salt water. We do this to sybolize the tears and pain of the Israelites. After the following prayer, take the parsley and dip it into the salt water and remember that even though we have painful circumstances in our lives, we will always have the hope of God to free us from our tribulations.

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, boray pro ha’adamah. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who created the fruit of the earth.
(Dip the parsley into the salt water twice, then eat it)

READER: 1 Cor. 5:6b-8, Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. Exodus 12:34, And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

LEADER: (lifting the plate of 3 mahtzah) We traditionally put 3 mahtzahs on our Seder plate. There are many explanations for why 3 are used. One is to represent Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We’ll let the Spirit lead you about what it represents in your own heart. However, we believe it represents Elohim, the plural word referring to the One true God of Israel. In Deut. 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: See 1). Lord + 2). God + 3).Lord = One. This is symbolized on the Seder table as 3 mahtzot in a 3 sleeved pouch, symbolizing the unity of essence and the individuality of person. It is important to understand that it is and always has been the 2nd mahtzah that is broken. Yeshua, the 2nd person of the trinity, left heaven and became one of us, so his body could be broken for each of us. We now remove the middle piece, the bread of affliction. We will eat one half and the other half is called afikomen, the dessert. (Wrap Afikomen in a cloth) I will hide the afikomen and later the children can try to find it to return it for a reward. (Hide the afikomen, but not too well. If the children can’t find it later, the Seder can’t continue. Put the other half back in the pouch.) The hiding of the afikomen seems to represent the hiding of the body of Yeshua in the bowels of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights.

ALL: In haste we went out of Egypt.

READER: Deut. 6:4-9,Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: 5And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. 6And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: 7And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. 8And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. 9And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates. Deut. 6:20-25, And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God hath commanded you? 21Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand: 22And the Lord shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes: 23And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers. 24And the Lord commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the Lord our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day. 25And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the Lord our God, as he hath commanded us. Exodus 12:26-27, And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? 27That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord's passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshipped.

YOUNG CHILD (Rising to ask the 4 questions)

How different this night is from all other nights!
1) On all other nights we eat bread or mahtzah, but this night why do we eat only mahtzah? 2) On other nights we eat all kinds of vegetables. On this night why do we eat only bitter herbs?
3) On all other nights we do not dip our vegetables even once. On this night why do we dip them twice? (Parsley)
4) On all other nights we eat our meals either sitting or reclining. On this night why do we eat only reclining?

LEADER: Tonight is different from all other nights because tonight we will remember what God has done for his people.

ALL: Blessed is the Almighty God who has given Torah to his people.

LEADER :Torah speaks of 4 sons; 1 wise, 1 wicked, 1 simple, and one who is unable to ask. What says the Wise son? He seeks knowledge, Deut. 6:20, ‘What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the Lord our God hath commanded you?’ What says the Wicked son? He looks down on the people and scoffs saying, Exodus 12:26, ‘What mean ye by this service?’ What says the Simple? Exodus 13:14, ‘What is this?’ What says the son Who is unable to ask? The parents must teach him, Exodus 13:8, This is done because of that which the Lord did unto me when I came forth out of Egypt. And so we will now tell the Passover story.

READER: The Israelites were already in the land of Egypt. They became fertile and multiplied and increased very greatly, so that the land was filled with them. A new king arose over Egypt, who did not know Joseph, and imposed great labor and hardship on the Israelites. But the more the Israelites were oppressed, the more they increased and spread out. The king then ordered that all newborn baby boys were to be killed. Pharoah charged all his people, saying, “every boy that is born to you shall be thrown into the Nile, but let every girl live.”

A levite woman conceived and bore a son and hid him for 3 months. After that time, she prepared a wicker basket, laid the child in the basket, and placed it in the weeds by the bank of the Nile. When the daughter of Pharoah came down to bathe in the Nile, she saw the basket among the reeds and had her slave girl fetch it. Pharoah’s daughter took pity on the child and made him her own son. She named him Moses, explaining, “I drew him out of the water.”

Moses grew and learned of his heritage. After witnessing an Egyptian beating an Israelite, he struck down the Egyptian and hid his body in the sand. When Pharoah learned of the matter he sought to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharoah to the backside of the wilderness to the land of Moab. There he married Zipporah.

After a long time Pharoah died. The Israelites were groaning under the yoke of the Egyptians and cried out to God, and he heard their cries. God appeared to Moses in a burning bush that was not consumed, telling him that he would use Moses to lead his people out of Egypt and into ‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’ So Moses returned to Egypt, taking the rod of God with him. Moses and his brother Aaron went to the new Pharoah to ask him to release the people of Israel. But Pharoah’s heart was hardened against the Israelites and he would not release them from their bondage to slavery. Each time Moses asked and Pharoah refused, Egypt would suffer another great plague. With the tenth and most horrible plague, the deaths of the firstborn of the land, Pharoah’s heart was finally pierced.

ALL: Exodus 12:12, For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

READER: Exodus 12:13-17, And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. 14And this day shall be unto you for a memorial; and ye shall keep it a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance for ever. 15Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Israel. 16And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you. 17And ye shall observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought your armies out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day in your generations by an ordinance for ever.

LEADER: Let us fill our cups the second time. A full cup is a sign of joy and on this night we are filled with joy in remembrance of God’s mighty deliverance. We must also remember the great sacrifice at which redemption was purchased. Lives were sacrificed to bring the Israelites out of the bondage to slavery in Egypt. Yeshua gave his life to purchase us out of the bondage of sin. As we recite each plague, let us dip our finger into the cup, allowing a drop of wine to fall on our napkins, reducing the fullness of our cup of joy on this night.

ALL: Blood!
Frogs!
Gnats!
Wild Beasts!
Disease to Livestock!
Boils!
Hail!
Locusts!
Darkness!
Death of the Firstborn!

LEADER: Rabbi Gamaliel, the grandson of Rabbi Hillel and the teacher of Rabbi Sha’ul (Paul the apostle), taught that in recounting the Passover story one must explain 3 things: The Passover lamb, Unleavened Bread and the Bitter Herbs.

PASSOVER: It is God that we honor in remembering that he passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt while he struck the Egyptians. (Lifting the shankbone of a lamb) The shankbone reminds us of the lamb whose blood marked the doors of the Israelites. We read in Exodus that the lamb was to be without defect, brought into the household and cared for. It was then at twilight on the 14th day of the month of Abib that the Israelites were to slaughter the lamb and put the blood on the lintels and doorposts of their homes. God gave them instruction that only through obedience would they be spared from the angel of death. Isaiah told of the coming Messiah, that he would be led like a lamb to the slaughter. As the Israelites were delivered from physical death while still in Egypt by applying the blood of the lamb on their doorframes, so are we all, Jews and Gentiles, delivered from spiritual death by applying the Blood of the Lamb of God to our hearts and minds and lives. Yeshua fulfilled both the Passover and the Atonement by his one sacrifice, he is our final blood atonement so that we could be freed from the bondage of sin and passed over from death unto life. Rev. 5:12, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

READER: The Israelites were saved by God and not an angel or seraph or any other messenger. For it is written: Exodus 12:12, For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.

LEADER: I shall pass through the land of Egypt

ALL: “I” - not an angel!

LEADER: I shall strike down every firstborn.

ALL: “I” -not a Seraph!

LEADER: I shall destroy all the Egyptian gods

ALL: “I” - and not a messenger! I am the Lord, I am the One True God, and there is none beside me.

LEADER: Mahtzah: (lifting the other half of the middle Mahtzah): Why do we eat this unleavened bread? The dough did not have time to rise before God revealed himself to them the redeem them. As it is written: Exodus 12:39, And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought forth out of Egypt, for it was not leavened; because they were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves any victual.

Maror (lifting the Bitter Herb): Why do we eat bitter herb? We eat bitter herbs because of the hardships that the Israelites had to bear. As it is written: Exodus 1:14, And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.

And now we bless the second cup of wine, the cup of plagues.

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, boray pri hagafen. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who created the fruit of the vine. This is the wine blessing that Yeshua pronounced at the Last Supper.
Drink the 2nd cup of wine.

LEADER:We will now bless the mahtzah as our food.

ALL: (Leader holding all three Mahtzot on the Seder plate) Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, hamotzi lechem min ha’aretz. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth. This is the bread blessing that Yeshua pronounced at the Last Supper.
(Do not eat the mahtzah at this time)

LEADER: (holding up the top and middle half pieces of mahtzah) The mahtzah of Passover is not just food, but the fulfillment of a commandment - let us bless the mahtzah.

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu ahelot mahtzah. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with his commandments, and has commanded us concerning the eating of the Mahtzah.
(do not eat the mahtzah at this time. pretty soon now!)

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, asher kidshanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu ahelot maror.
Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who has sanctified us with his commandments, and has commanded us concerning the eating of the Maror.
(Everyone eat the top Mahtzah with Maror) The Father’s part in the Passover as judge of the land of Egypt. He brought the bitterness of judgment.

READER: Exodus 12:11, And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord's passover.

ALL: Numbers 9:1-3, And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season. 3In the fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it.
(Everyone eat the bottom Mahtzah with Maror) Ruach haKodesh, the Spirit of Elohim, was the angel of death to all who would not believe and apply the blood of the lamb. He brought the bitterness of death.

LEADER: Let us now eat and remember the grace, mercy and love that God has for each of us. He sent Yeshua, our Messiah, to be our Passover Lamb. We, like the Israelites who were released from their bondage to slavery in Egypt, can be saved from our bondage to sin in the world.
(Eat the broken half Mahtzah with the Maror and Charoset) The Son of God, who suffered unspeakably for each of us in his body which was broken for us, so we could be ‘passed over’ by the angel of death, both physically and spiritually. We must acknowledge the bitterness of our sin to experience the sweetness of eternal life with our Messiah, both now and in the future.

How great is God’s goodness to us! For each of his acts of kindness we declare dayenu! -it would have been sufficient.

LEADER: If the lord had merely rescued us, but had not judged the Egyptians...
ALL: dayenu!
LEADER: If he had only destroyed their gods, but had not parted the Red Sea...
ALL: dayenu!
LEADER: If he had only drowned our enemies, but had not fed us with manna...
ALL: dayenu!
LEADER: If he had just brought us through the desert, but had not given us the Sabbath...
ALL: dayenu!
LEADER: If he had only given us Torah, but not Eretz Israel...
ALL: dayenu!

The supper break represents the time that Yeshua spent in the tomb, his human nature awaiting the resurrection after 3 days and 3 nights.
* Leader says a prayer of blessing over the Passover Supper.

*Break for Supper.

*Everyone returns to finish reading the Hagaddah.

*The Afikomen must be found by one of the children and returned for the reward, which is a symbol of the Yeshua purchasing our redemption at the price of his own life. Even in a non-Messianic Seder, the afikomen must be found before the Seder can continue.

*Save room for the dessert - the afikomen.

LEADER: (lifting the afikomen) We will now eat the afikomen, the dessert. The taste of the afikomen should linger in our mouths. It is about the afikomen that Yeshua said, Luke 22:19, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. As the Passover cannot be completed without the afikomen, neither can our redemption be completed without Yeshua, the Bread of Life, our Messiah.

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai, Elohenu, Melech haOlam, hamotzi lechem min ha’aretz. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from the earth.
(All eat the afikomen)

LEADER: Many ask, ‘How does Yeshua Messiah fit into the Passover story?’ God gave us many signs and prophesies about our coming Messiah. Yeshua fulfilled all of the spring feasts and the prophecies about Messiah coming as the suffering servant, Messiah ben Yosef, exactly as Torah, the prophets and the writings foretold. When he returns to fulfill the fall feasts, he will fulfill the rest of the prophecies about Messiah ben David, the reigning King exactly as Torah, the prophets and the writings foretell.

READER: Prophecy fulfilled: Micah 5:2, But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
Prophecy in the fulfilling: Micah 5:3, Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
Prophecy to be fulfilled: Micah 5:4, And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth. 5a And he shall be their peace.

READER: Isaiah 52:13-53:8, Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. 14As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: 15So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider. 53:1Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

ALL: Psalm 116:12-14, What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me? 13I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord. 14I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

LEADER: Let us fill our cups for the third time this evening. (lifting the cup) This is the cup of redemption, symbolizing the blood of the Passover Lamb. This is the cup after supper, which Yeshua identified with himself, Luke 22:20, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, boray pri hagafen. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who created the fruit of the vine.
Drink the 3rd cup of wine.

LEADER: (Lifting the extra cup for Elijah) The theme of the part of the hagaddah before the meal was the redemption of the children of Israel from Egypt. In keeping with tradition, we now move on to the theme of Messianic redemption. We open the door, indicating our readiness to receive the Prophet Elijah, herald of Messiah. We must also now all open our hearts to the truth.

Have a child open the door

ALL: Malachi 4:5, Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

LEADER: Elijah was taken up by a great whirlwind in a chariot of fire. We wait for him today to announce the return of our Messiah, the Son of David.

READER: Before the birth of John the Immerser, an angel of the Lord said, Luke 1:17, “And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Later Yeshua spoke of John, Matthew 11:14, “And if ye will receive it, this is Elias, which was for to come.” It was this same John who saw Yeshua and said, John 1:29, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

LEADER: Let us fill our cups the 4th time, the cup of Praise and give thanks to our God.

ALL: Baruch Atah Adonai Elohenu, Melech haOlam, boray pri hagafen. Blessed are you, O Lord our God, King of the universe, who created the fruit of the vine.
Drink the 4th cup of wine

LEADER: Let us read responsively Psalm 136.

READER: Jeremiah 31:31-34, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: 32Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: 33But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Rev. 4:8b, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” Isaiah 6:3, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” 2 Cor. 3:12-18, Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: 13And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished: 14But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. 15But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. 17Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

LEADER: We have now finished our Passover Seder. I encourage each of you to take the time during the remaining Passover and Unleavened Bread holidays to read the story of Passover in Exodus as well as the other scriptures throughout this Haggadah. We are all called to live the Sh’ma - to love the Lord with all our heart, and all our mind, and all our soul, and all our strength, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. We need to seek a relationship with our Father in Heaven, not just religion. There are many today who do not believe that Yeshua is the Messiah, the Son of God. To deny this is to deny the scripture, both Torah, prophets and writings, and Brit Hadashah, the New Testament. There is no mystery - it is all there for the one seeking a relationship with the Father to see. Every prophecy pertaining to Messiah’s first coming as the suffering servant, Messiah ben Joseph, are perfectly fulfilled in Yeshua. Should you go back into Tanakh and find all these prophecies, you would see that noone else could possibly fit the description. Noone else could fulfill them all, as Yeshua did. You may ask, “How can a Jewish person believe that Yeshua is the Son of God and remain Jewish?” The answer is simple to find - you must have a personal relationship with God. He will reveal the truth to you and you will see that he is lifting the veil that has been placed over Jewish and Gentile hearts. All will see that the Jewish Messiah has come! And when Yeshua came, he did not call on Jews to give up their Jewishness. Quite the contrary, He said their righteousness should exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees. The gentiles, too, are having the veil lifted from their eyes, for they have denied their Jewish heritage for so long that there remains division in the church, and in some cases lack of understanding of the depth of Scriptural truth.
(The Aaronic priestly blessing)

The Lord bless thee and keep thee.
The Lord make his face shine upon thee and be gracious unto thee.
The Lord lift up his counteneance upon thee and give thee PEACE.
