War on Many Fronts
Commentary by Mitchell Brooks
April 7, 2004

The United States is besieged by enemies from within and without. It is ironic that barely a decade after the collapse of a dangerous foe, the Soviet Union, we are in an equally desperate fight against a multitude of enemies, and our government calls many of them "peaceful" and "our good friends and allies." We are at war nonetheless.

We are at war with Mexico.

The Mexican government, with its arrogant demands that we match our immigration, welfare, health care, affirmative action, citizenship and identity regulations to their needs is a greater and more open enemy to us than any other foreign country. Mexican government officials openly conspire with domestic Hispanic groups to subvert our laws and facilitate policies that are harmful to the United States. Mexico encourages Mexicans to come to United States and maintain dual citizenship and loyalty. The Mexican government also claims to be a legitimate representative of Mexicans living in the United States. This is not to mention the constant incursions by the Mexican police and army over our common border. This sort of behavior by Mexico toward the United States is reminiscent of a militarily victorious nation towards a colony or protectorate. The Bush administration collaborates with this enemy.

The only thing preventing Bush from giving the Mexicans everything they want is extreme opposition by the true Americans that Bush needs to get reelected: Americans that Bush takes for granted. Whenever Bush meets with President Fox of Mexico "immigration reform" is at the top of their list. What they mean by immigration reform is American surrender to a hostile foreign invasion. Bush wants to surrender our sovereignty to a third-world failure of a country, Mexico, in spite of what the majority of Americans think about that.

Although Mexico is obviously an enemy, it would still be missing the point to attack them. Lining our common border with the military would be quite beneficial, and if Mexico were to refuse to accept its repatriated citizens then we should force them to by military action, but that would be a relatively simple matter compared to forcing our own government to stop surrendering to hostile forces. We need to stop all immigration and deport all illegals if we are to survive as the United States of America.

We are at war with Radical Islam.

Radical Islamic people are hostile to everything we stand for and are particularly resentful about the fact that Western, Judeo/Christian civilization has been an unprecedented success. The United States was attacked on 9/11 by radical Islamic terrorists. There was dancing in the streets throughout the Islamic world. A response was required. The Democrats condemned the attacks, but almost immediately began to wonder if the solution could be to "reach out" to the Islamic community. Gosh if we could all just get to know each other better I'm sure we could have a group hug and a candlelight vigil where we mourn the deaths of the victims and the terrorists as equally tragic.

The Bush Republicans' response was to declare war. On the face of it this was a rational, constructive response, but on closer examination, I detect a serious flaw in Bush's strategy and tactics. He is making the classic mistake of insecure powers throughout history of responding to domestic unrest and terrorism by attacking foreign targets. Sept. 11 would have never happened if we had not first been made helpless by politically-correct multiculturalism followed by the self-destructive policy of mass immigration that Bush is so enamored of. Bush also obsessively insists on calling Islam "a religion of peace," but some of the people who follow this religion hate us while we allow more and more of them to immigrate to the U.S. Terrorism is just one more immigration problem along with overpopulation, welfare dependency, crime, wage depression and racist affirmative-action. We need to stop being so "welcoming."

We are at war with our left-wing bureaucracy and judiciary.

After 9/11, one of the most useful suggestions put forward to avoid a repeat occurrence was to arm airline pilots. The left wing howled in fury at this as they always do when an effective solution is advanced. Bush and the Congress claimed to support the idea. Three-and- a-half-years later there are almost no armed airline pilots. Why? Because the bureaucratic procedures that must be navigated in order for a pilot to be declared fit to carry a firearm are almost insurmountable. It is difficult to say what the Transportation Security Administration's motives are in obstructing the arming of pilots. After all, left-wing bureaucrats are famous for being irrational and the left-wing attitude on this issue generally is that they would rather that we all be killed by criminals and terrorists than to have the ability to defend ourselves.

Obstructing our inadequate efforts to deport illegal aliens we have the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) which has decided to "review" cases of illegal aliens for as long as it takes for the illegal to win. Again, their motives seem so irrational as to be impenetrable, but the effect is to subvert the law.

In a column by Thomas Allen who relates how "George W. Bush boasted in his radio address last weekend about how his Administration is boosting homeownership among what he called 'minorities.' "What this means is that Bush wants "Government-Sponsored Entities" to make bad home loans to people who probably can't afford to pay the note. These loans will require little or no money down and will be based on credit ratings that are, by conventional standards, terrible. We've been doing this sort of thing for years by bailing out third-world polities, and now we are going to subsidize third-world individuals with taxpayer-subsidized housing loans.

We are at war with the United Nations.

There is an unending flow of treaties, resolutions and other demands that would require us to surrender our sovereignty. The List is long: The Kyoto Protocol, the LOST Treaty, the UN's position on gun control, the constant demands for us to send troops to third-world hellholes that cannot govern themselves. The Democrats are chomping at the bit to surrender completely and Bush is not far behind despite ignoring the UN on Iraq and Kyoto. Bush treads lightly around most issues related to the UN and supports many of their most destructive, anti-American projects. Inform yourself and be very afraid.

The truly frightening thing is that the above list is only a tiny scrap torn from the whole. Our enemies attack from every direction and our victories are few. Many are claiming victory because Bush's plan for immigration surrender has been derailed by intense opposition by true Americans. I'm certainly happy about that, but while we pat ourselves on the back nothing is being done to reverse the immigrant invasion and Bush continues to plot with our enemies to give amnesty to illegal aliens and increase legal immigration. Victory will come when Americans lose their fear of speaking the politically-incorrect truth and of acting on that truth. Our words and actions will be in the face of opposition by our current leadership.

Time is very, very short. Our enemies are massing for the final assault and our walls are crumbling. We will have to win the battle all by ourselves and find new leaders in the process. We will have to go on the offensive in order to regain a country that is run on Constitutional principles and that includes every square inch of territory our ancestors bequeathed to us.
